Peer Support

Need someone to talk to? We’re here for you.
Starting this September, the Remembering Cherubs Peer Support Service will provide compassionate, one-on-one support for parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.

This is not therapy. But sometimes, talking to someone who understands can make all the difference. Our peer mentors are people who’ve been through loss themselves or have been specially trained to offer gentle, steady support.

What to Expect

• You’ll be matched with a peer mentor for three virtual sessions, scheduled every other week
• Sessions are private, flexible, and focused on your emotional well-being
• You’ll receive a copy of The Pregnancy Loss Guidebook, along with helpful tools and support
• You can also join our monthly group meetups, Crawl. Walk. Run. Soar!, to stay connected

This service is free of charge and open to parents at any stage of the healing process.

Peer mentor matches will begin in September. If you’re interested, we invite you to fill out the brief intake and assessment form below. Your information will be kept on file, and you’ll be among the first contacted when we begin matching parents with mentors.

Peer Support Intake & Assessment

Do you live in southeastern Michigan?

Matching Preferences (Optional)

Due to availability of peer mentors, it’s not always possible to honor your preferences when pairing you, but we will do our best. Is there anything you’d like us to consider when matching you with a peer mentor? (Select all that apply):

Readiness Assessment

This helps us understand where you are in your grief journey and whether peer support is a good fit right now.

Do you feel emotionally ready to connect with someone and talk about your loss?

Pre-Survey

Please answer the following by selecting the option that best describes how you currently feel.

“I feel like I have someone who truly understands what I’m going through.”
“Right now, I would describe my emotional state as:”
“I feel confident in handling the emotional ups and downs of my grief.”
“I have the guidance I need to navigate day-to-day life after loss.”
“I feel that my experience has been seen, heard, and respected by others.”

Commitment & Availability

When are you generally available to hold 60- to 90-minute peer support sessions? (Check all that apply):

What Happens Next

After you submit this form, we’ll review your responses and match you with a trained peer mentor who aligns with your needs and preferences. Once the service is fully launched in September, your mentor will then reach out to schedule your first virtual session.

Thank you for trusting us with this part of your healing journey.
